We aim to produce wines that faithfully reflect the spirit of their territory and vintage.

At San Polino we believe that life on this planet is intertwined by a single thread. We hold that the qualities of balance, harmony, elegance and structure which make the wine an esthetic object are the reflection of the equilibrium, the richness and harmony that is present in each of the ecosystems necessary to the production of the wine; from the ecosystems  around the roots and foliage, to the micro-organisms on the grape clusters, in the fermenting must, to the wine in the bottle.

We believe that the relationship between humans and vine is a relationship of symbiosis produced through natural selection. As such we intervene as little as possible in the vineyard, leaving nature to follow its course. In case of necessity we use manual intervention, gently assisting the vine and its grapes towards optimal maturation.

This approach is also valid in the winery where we create the conditons that will facilitate the natural development and full expression of  the individual personalty of each wine.

So while all our wines have the family trait of the San Polino terroir each vintage has its own distinbt character and dignity.

We believe that the true value of our wines is to be found in their integrity and authenticity. As farmers and wine makers it is this that makes our work so infinitely stimulating and enjoyable.
