Our small farm in Montalcino produces a certified organic-biodynamic Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino and olive oil.

We have 2.5 hectares of vineyard and 1.5 hectares of olives which are surrounded by the wilderness of mediterranean woods and shrubland.
In the interests of autochthony and typicality we farm only the Sangiovese vine varietal and use, for the most part, only manual work in the fields.
We pay great attention to the health of our soil, believing that true DOCG can only come from soil that is thriving with a complex interaction of micro-life.
Being small we are able to give personalised care to our vines.
We do not use any pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides in our fields.
We innoculate the vineyards with insects to raise populations of important but unfortunately dissipating insect species and with micro-organisms that will resolve the usual problems of fungal attacks in the vineyard

For many years we have been involved in a biodiversity-mapping project in the Brazilian Amazon and we have transferred many of these skills here to San Polino where we feel that a healthy regard for the soil, permaculture in the vineyard and the production of a clean product is the only way forward for the consumer and for the planet.

Our first Brunello was released in 2001 and we have had the good fortune to have produced some excellent vintages which have gained recognition and ratings from Decanter magazine, Gambero Rosso, Biofach, Japan Wine Challenge, and the Wine Spectator, amongst others.

In the winery our policy is to keep additives to an absolute minimum and to keep our wines authentic to their year of production.
